Ride North Carolina

This area offers about eight miles of ATV trails that wind through a mixed pine and scrub oak forest. The terrain is mostly flat but can get extremely muddy during wet weather. Deep mud puddles are common even during dry weather. The main staging area offers plenty of room for parking and has a vault toilet and trash cans but no running water so come prepared. Dispersed camping is permitted. The trails are open to machines that are 50 inches or less in width. The forest is open daily, year-round except during extreme weather conditions.

This place is very popular for Jeeps because the rugged trails consist of steep and chunky climbs , deep ruts, seasonal mud pits and a few shallow stream crossings. The 20 mile trail system is primarily geared for 4x4s and four wheelers but all vehicle types including dirt bikes are permitted. Free primitive camping with direct trail access can be found at Art Lilley Campground. The campground is graded with loose gravel and sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. Amenities include a vault toilet, unloading ramp and garbage cans but no running water.

This part of the Nantahala National Forest has about 28 miles of marked trail loops. Numerous bridge crossings, dense forest vegetation and a scenic waterfall trademark this popular trail system. Trails range from easy to difficult with some sections being very rocky and challenging. The main staging area offers level parking and has a nice day use area that consists of picnic tables and a large gazebo. Cell phone service is not available at the staging area but a signal can usually be picked up along most of the trails and mountain ridges.

Just a short drive away from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, this facility offers guided ATV tours on 200 acres of private property. The property offers a wide variety of terrain that ranges from play pits, water crossings, rolling hills and mud pits. Cabin and camper rentals, RV hookups and primitive campsites are available. Note that these trails are not open to the general public for riding, only for guests taking the ATV tour or camping on the property. Reservations for tours are required.

This offroad park offers deep mud bogs, several play pits, about 15 miles of sandy ATV trails and a water filled tunnel that goes under the main entrance road that you can ride through. Camping is permitted and both primtive sites and RV hookups are available. Occasional live music and special events are hosted during select weekends.

This offroad park offers miles of woods trails, hill climbs and several mud bogs. The park borders the Broad River and also has several creeks running though the property. The property offers a wide variety of terrain that ranges from hard pack to rugged/chunky rock sections with washed out ravines, making this place geared for the more experienced rider. Camping is permitted near the entrance gate but there are only about three sites for tents.
